Process: I started by rolling out a small ball of clay and pushing it in so it made a small bowl. I flipped it over to make it the base of the plant pot. I took small logs of clay and made them the petals, I indented them with a toothpick to make them look like real leaves. I then made a design in the pot itself with curves and dots. After it set for a while I painted the leaves and pot to give it that finished look.
Extension: I would make it into a science lesson and have the students pick an animal and make a shadow box using clay to make the animal and the plants found in the animal's habitats.
