Process: We started by shaping the head of the snake and the tail of the snake. Then we had the students cut out strips of construction paper and proceeded to glue them alternately to make them look like a chain. After the students finished the chain they got to decorate them with black and white paint to make them resemble either real snakes or however they wanted.
Extension: I would have the students listen to a snake book and give them a little quiz to see if they understand basic snake facts.
